Building Horses With Real-World Confidence

At Duyn Equine, our training program is built around creating confident, willing, and well-rounded horses. We specialize in colt starting, young horse development, desensitization, problem solving, and real-world exposure that helps prepare horses for life beyond the arena. Our goal is not just to get a horse through a checklist, but to help them understand, trust, and think through new situations. From groundwork and first rides to obstacles, water, cattle, trailers, flags, tarps, noise, and everyday distractions, we focus on building a solid foundation that carries over into whatever job that horse is meant to do. Whether your horse is preparing for the show ring, trail riding, ranch work, or simply needs more confidence and life experience, our program is designed to meet each horse where they are and help them move forward in a thoughtful, practical way.

A Solid Foundation for Every Horse’s Future

Duyn Equine offers colt starting, young horse development, desensitization, problem solving, and real-world training in Venice, Florida. Our program focuses on building confident, willing horses through thoughtful groundwork, first rides, obstacle work, water, cattle, trailers, flags, tarps, and everyday exposure. We believe a good training foundation should prepare a horse for more than one job. Whether your horse is headed to the show ring, the trail, ranch work, or simply needs confidence and life experience, we work to create horses that are safer, more prepared, and better able to think through new situations.

From the Horses and Humans Who Know us Best

Most of our horses come to us through word of mouth, and we’re always grateful when clients trust us enough to send their friends our way. If you know someone looking for thoughtful, real-world training for their horse, we’d love for you to share Duyn Equine with them.

“Hank took one of my horses that had been troubled most of his life. Angry, aggressive and did not want to work. After a month with Hank, and all the hard work he put in this guy, he has a new life and a partner that loves him. He found a new lease on life. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else for young or problem horses. The amount of patience and dedication he shows these horses is astounding. from me. I have recommended the Duyn’s to friends and we all share the same sentiments. The real deal!” - Jessica LeMonteBig IReal Impact.

“Have sent 2 of my ponies to them so far. one was basically afraid of everything and they did a wonderful job instilling the confidence he needed to then come home and start his successful hunter career. As of the writing of this review they are currently breaking my second pony and sending frequent updates. This family is friendly and honest to you when you send a horse to them. Worth the trip if you are not in Florida. Highly recommend and will send any of my future horses to them for breaking or problem solving.” - Sandra Fatone - each session flows.

“Another HUGE shoutout to Duyn Equine for the work they’ve done on Baby B’s (Balou Blue Z) brain.

After two months of working cattle and hunting hogs, he’s officially decided Liverpools are not that serious” - Brittni Raflowitz

“We consider ourselves so incredibly lucky to have found Duyn Equine. Hank Duyn uses patience and kindness. If you need one started, or have one with an issue you need fixed, we can not recommend Duyn Equine enough!” - Monica Lucci Rauschenbach
